The nocturnal bats usually meet great interest of the students. Not only the amazing ability to fly but also the subtle mechanism of echolocation leads to surprise for these only flying mammals. Bats often have got a sinister reputation as a "messenger of darkness" and "bloodsuckers". It is important to correct this by fairy tales and horror stories elicited ideas. Another reason to get students closer to bats is their sharp decline in the recent years. Concrete actions to protect this endangered group of animals and can be partially implemented in practice.
